FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Jesus said, “If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.” Matthew 5:41
A well-known business executive was asked the secret of his success. He replied that his success could be summed up in three words: “And then some.’ He went on to explain, “I discovered at an early age, that most of the differences between average people and top people could be explained in these three words. The top people did what was expected of them – and then some. They were thoughtful of their associates – and then some. They met their obligations fairly and squarely – and then some. They met their customers satisfaction – and then some.
Could not the same be said of every true Christian. Christians go one mile – and then some. They turn the their cheek – and then some. They love others – and then some. They care for other people – and then some. They contribute to the work of God’s Church – and then some. They give their time and talents – and then some.
The Christian faith is giving your heart, your mind, your soul to Jesus – and then some.
